Dr Quinton has been a consultant at St George’s Hospital since 2000 where he has a specialist interest in cardiac intensive care medicine, anaesthesia for patients undergoing cardiac surgery and perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography. Non-clinical interests include both training and hospital management. Until he was appointed as Clinical Director for Theatres & Anaesthetics in 2015, he spent 5 years as the Training Programme Director for St George’s School of Anaesthesia followed by 5 years as the Royal College of Anaesthetists Regional Advisor.
